Family is most precious, says jewel lover Raveena

Excerpt from Indian Express on Fri Jul 01 2011

“Ask any girl what she loves the most and she will say jewellery with a smile,” said Raveena Tandon, in the city for the launch of the 2011 Platinum collection at Ranka Jewellers, Karve Road. “I am a collector of jewellery and hope to pass my collection to my daughters and my daughter-in-law. Our (Tandon and her husband Anil Thadani’s) platinum wedding bands, which has ‘us two together forever’ is my most treasured piece,” said the actress. She was also fascinated by the floral and royal motifs in the neck-pieces of the collection.

At the event, she also talked at length about her comeback into Bollywood with Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, after a long hiatus. “I have done a peppy promo song for the film. It was fun working with Amitabh Bachchan after Bade Miya Chote Miya, which released 13 years back,” said Tandon. “There are different phases in a woman’s life that she must give her whole heart and soul to. I had given 17 years of hard work to this industry, after which I took time off to enjoy my marriage and bring up my kids. I wanted to watch my kids grow up, I can never rewind time to their childhood again. Ultimately, family is the most precious thing in one’s life,” she beamed.

Her stint in Comedy Ka Mukabla on Star Plus was also an enjoyable experience for her. “Sometimes on these shows, comedy crosses the line a little but nobody objects so I guess its fine,” she said. All ready for films again, Tandon added, “I will be shooting for Alert with Sanjay Dutt and Anupam Kher in July in Goa and then another script is being discussed with Amol Palekar.”
